Ellsbrook Novelty Search Service
Novelty search

Novelty SearchA Novelty Search or Patentability Search is conducted in the early stages of a product development project.

If your company wants to apply for a patent for an invention arising from a project it would be wise to conduct novelty searching prior to writing the patent.

A novelty search is conducted to determine if the invention is new. This can determine if further investment is justified. In addition to patent literature it is sometimes appropriate to search technical articles e.g. in journals, books and on the internet.
